About a year ago (maybe more??!) my friend Jess (middle Rocky) emailed with an idea. Let's do a KAL for the Rocky Coast cardigan - me on my coast (SF) and she and our friend Michelle (left Rocky) on theirs (NJ). After doing so much sample knitting and design work, I was aching to make a sweater of my own and thought it was a perfect idea!
Of course, life has a way of getting in the middle of things and sure enough we were moving back to the east coast and the KAL had to be delayed. Once we got settled in our new home, we got the needles clicking and our KAL got on it's way!
I ended up going up a needle size to US11 which resulted in a bit of an oversized cardigan. I am thinking it will come in handy durning mos 7-9 in my pregnancy. (which is going swimmingly so far!! **knock on wood**) Cardigans are the way to go I hear for the 3rd Trimester.
Jess, Michelle and I all took advantage of Hannah's extra arm room instructions. You can find those here.
We all had a great time working on this project and I think maybe even more fun taking pictures of them!
Project Details
Pattern: Rocky Coast Cardigan by Hanna Fettig - Rav Link
Needles: US10/10.5 and US10.5/11 (for mine)
Yarn: Fibre Company, Organik (Michelle - Oahu , Jess - Crater Lake , Margaux - Sulfur Springs)
Photos were taken in Hoboken, NJ which is still recovering from Superstorm Sandy. I am so grateful that our favorite LYS, Patricia's Yarns, came out unscathed and even provided power and comfort to some knitters and non knitters alike who were still without power.Even a week later, people are still displaced and powerless. My heart aches for my former home city and I hope nothing but the best for all the residences. If you would like to help with the recovery consider donating to the Rebuild Hoboken Relief Fund!

You guys are too cute!
